Happily Ever Citrone
I think I always took for granted growing up in a small neighborhood where everyone knew everyone. Little did middle school me know that these people who I would occasionally see on the weekends when I tagged along with my small circle of friends, would become the most stunning couples I've ever seen.
When you're young and high school sweethearts or college sweethearts everyone always says "oh they will be together forever!" In some cases, like Lauren and John, this is nothing but the truth.
I remember so vividly receiving Lauren's email to photograph her and John's wedding and I know for sure my jaw dropped! Was another neighborhood couple really trying to book me for their wedding? Whenever I hear about local couples getting engaged, I not so secretly hope that one day my mailbox will show that wonderful notification symbol we all know and love so much. Needless to say I was absolutely stoked when I saw Lauren's email. Not only did she so genuinely compliment my work, but insisted that I be their photographer. You can only imagine how flattered I was, some solo dance party moves may have come into play.....
Just as I suspected, every detail was planned out and of course, flawless. From the perfectly matched colors of the flowers to the bridesmaids dresses, to the golden sunset light that fell ever so perfectly on Lauren's curls.
There was not a dry eye during the ceremony as Lauren came through the doors of Pen Ryn Estate and began her walk down the aisle. The sun was shining just over the venue, that she couldn't have looked more like an angel is she actually tried. As they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, guests cheered and shouted congratulations to the newlyweds.
With their vows sealed and a kiss exchanged, it was time for the party to start, but of course not after a few photos. Which, with that gorgeous sunset, I couldn't stop myself from taking an endless amount of photos! I'll admit, I definitely got trigger happy, but I mean who wouldn't?!
Their cocktail hour was filled with photos as well, not just ones I was taking. I saw Polaroids galore and let me tell you it made my heart so happy! I mean what an idea for a guest book am I right?! If you're looking for a fun and unique way to remember your guests, Polaroids are the way to go.
After perusing through cocktail hour and giving the new Mr. and Mrs. Citrone a few moments to relish in the fact they are now married, I stole them and their bridal party for some sunset photos. Like I mentioned before, that sunset did not disappoint! With everyone accounted for we headed to a little path with these gorgeous trees that seemed to just engulf the wedding party. It was truly so beautiful and so perfect for the photos I was envisioning. Let me tell you too, this wedding party had me laughing up a storm. Everyone was so genuinely happy to be there, it truly was a party from start to finish!
Needless to say, I am so proud and so in love with the photos from this day. And to be quite honest, john and Lauren were so easy to photograph because they were just so in the moment with each other. Everything was effortless when it came to photographing them. The looks exchanged, the way he held her close and those moments you saw in both their eyes where they realized "this is the person I get to spend forever with."
My only regret is not writing this blog post sooner, but hey good things take time right?
Also, don' forget to give your girl some likes and follows on the ole' gram ;)
